Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 invites us to move beyond conversation and into action. While awareness is an essential first step, real change happens when we actively create spaces, tools, and opportunities that support mental and emotional wellbeing, especially for children and young people. Stormbreak aims to support trusted adults to take action for children, with a prevention at scale approach.
How stormbreak takes action
At stormbreak our work is focused on supporting the mental and physical well-being of children in education, health and social care and is driven by local needs and priorities, designed with, by and for local communities, delivered by local people, and with direct local benefits and impact. Working with local people, educating and equipping them to support the mental health and well being of their young people is vitally important to facilitate lasting change. We do this through three programmes:
- Surge for primary schools
- Shine for children with early emerging need
- Together for families of care-experienced children
At stormbreak we help children find ways to understand, recognise, and talk about their emotions and develop ways through mentally healthy movement so they can take action to manage and regulate these helping them face their day to day challenges.
