How can we develop resilience?

Resilience helps us to develop an inner strength, be brave and have courage. We can say to ourselves, I am brave, I am strong, I can do this! It is important that we all notice our feelings and ask for help with them when they get too big for us to manage. Resilience helps us to develop an inner strength, be brave and have courage. We develop an ability to ‘bounce back’ from adversity and adapt positively in the face of challenging personal circumstances and difficult situations.

  • Using problem solving skills and talking things through
  • Being able to stay calm even when we have difficult feelings

Talk to someone you trust about something you find hard to do. Don't be afraid to say how you are really feeling even if you are trying to be brave and have a go at something that is hard.
